Technician testing a CPU for reuse.
Computers that have been tested for retail reuse.
Monitors that have passed inspection for bulk use.
Many organizations have questions on how their equipment will be processed.
That's easy, that is up to you. There are a few levels of recycling that are
available for you to choose. They range from a simple drop-off to make sure that
they simply stay out of a landfill to more involved testing and documenting
procedures. In most cases, the recycling process is free of charge (please check
our accepted items page for more details). Should you require additional
services, a slight fee may be assessed. Please see our chart below:
- Level one: This level of recycling is basic acceptance of the
product. It is a basic drop off that ensures that the product is recycled
properly. A certificate of recycling is issued upon request at time of drop
off. It includes a basic description of the items recycled. For example: 6
monitors, 4 CPU's, 2 printers, etc...
- Level two: This is our most popular level of auditing and
recycling. This level includes a basic description of each major individual
item along with the corresponding serial number. This level of the auditing
procedure will allow us to to issue a complete certificate of recycling
along with a transfer of ownership. That transfer helps track items. Should
an item be abandoned, that product may have been originally registered to
either you or your company. If the items has been transferred to us during
the auditing procedure, we take legal possession which limits your
responsibility and liability if ever questioned.
- Level three: This level of auditing includes all that is included
in level two with the edition of testing the condition of each item. For
example: If a monitor were tested, it would have a pass/fail grade and any
notes describing why the monitor did not pass inspection such as inoperative
power switch, poor color, etc.. A CPU would have each characteristic listed.
For example: Dell Latitude C610 1.2 GHz/ 256 Megs of Ram / 12 gig hard
drive, DVD, etc..... this level is most popular for those who are seeking
asset value for their equipment. It is also a popular choice for those who
need to report back to leasing companies for a possible buy out of residual
value evaluation.
- Level four: This level has been modified to be added to any of
the above levels. As time progressed, not all items have residual value. We
found that this level of recycling became less popular due to the fees
involved however many still wished to have the hard drives 'wiped' by one of
our qualified technicians. As of 2006, this level of auditing has been
modified to only disk wiping and again must be added to one of the above
auditing levels.
